Farewell party for the national ice hockey team held in Moscow

On December 24, the Farewell Ceremony for Ice Hockey National Training Team for 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games was held at Greenwood International Trade Centre in Moscow, where the team has trained and stayed for five months. Zhang Hanhui, China’s Ambassador to Russia, and Wang Xuan, head of the Leading Group for Ice Hockey Preparations for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games attended and addressed the ceremony. Gennady Dimchenko, President of the Russian Continental Ice Hockey League, sent a congratulatory letter to the team. The ceremony was presided over by Zhou Liqun, General Manager of Zhong Chengtong International Investment Co., Ltd. (Chengtong International), which is the President Unit of Russia China General Chamber of Commerce.
Zhang Hanhui said that President Xi Jinping and President Putin held a virtual conference on December 15, which comprehensively reviewed the two nations’ cooperation in 2021 and set the tone for the future bilateral development. President Putin will attend the Beijing Winter Olympics in February 2022 on the invitation of President Xi Jinping. Zhang noted that the national ice hockey training team has fully demonstrated the spirit of competition and cooperation during its training in Moscow against the backdrop of the severe pandemic situation here. China Chengtong and the Greenwood International Trade Centre have provided all-round support to the team, which shows central SOEs’ social responsibility and firm support to 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games. Wish the national ice hockey team makes great achievements in the Games.
Wang Xuan reviewed the training team’s hard work over the past five months and recognised the remarkable results attained during training and competition in Moscow. Wang noted that the Chinese Embassy in Russia has provided thoughtful assistance to the team, and the Greenwood International Trade Centre offered the team the best-organised services in all aspects which makes all members feel at home.
Gennady Dimchenko said in his letter congratulating the national ice hockey team on successful completing its training and competition mission in Moscow. He said that the team has also contributed to the two peoples friendly communication between China and Russia and wishes the team good luck in Beijing Winter Olympic Games.
Zhou Liqun made a speech on behalf of Chinese enterprises, overseas Chinese and overseas students in Russia. Zhou said that Greenwood is always the home of the team and the successful completion of training is not the terminal, but the start of further enhancing sports exchanges and friendships between China and Russia.
All guests watched a video showing the team’s training, competition and daily activities during their five-month time in Moscow.
